As a young artist I was always intrigued by artists that used computer graphics as a medium. However, I didn’t know where to start and thought it would be out of my reach. With some research and practice, however, it has become one of my favorite methods for creating art! In this article I’m going to give you some examples of steps required to create your own digital art work. Of course, the best way to learn what is possible is to experiment yourself.
These kind images are made using many different effects and filters. For example, the first one was made by using the Liquify filter, while the second is a result of being filtered through Google Images. This way you can get an idea what kinds of tools are available in the program you choose to use.
I will now provide a list of programs where you can create your own digital art:
Paint Shop Pro Photo – Very good for creating your own digital art (especially if you already have this program)
Adobe Photoshop – Full of effects and filters, but also fairly expensive. For the price, I personally think Paint Shop Pro is a better choice. However, it does provide more functions that can be used in other programs like Adobe Illustrator (vectorizing images).
Google Picasa – Free with less features than Photoshop.
Gimp – Free and open source, however not as simple to use. It also doesn’t have some of the features that Paint Shop Pro has (like Liquify). I would only recommend this program for advanced users.
Summing it Up
So if you’re ready to begin I would recommend getting Paint Shop Pro Photo . It’s one of the best programs for digital art, even though it can be used on its own or in combination with other programs. I hope this article helped you out and gave you some ideas about how to make your own digital art!
